“Austin is an outstanding individual. He is a very humble kid with an always positive attitude and a character built on integrity. Austin is a very coachable player and with his strong skill set has a very high ceiling moving forward in baseball. He is a leader on the field at the catching position understanding the game in front of him. Very solid defensively with good receiving skills and above average arm strength and pop time. At the plate, he has good swinging mechanics and creates good power using his lower half well to drive the ball. He has a good approach most at bats and I believe will hit for higher average as he continue to mature and gain more confidence in his swing with more reps. On the mound, he projects well will his tall solid frame and above average arm strength. He has limited pitching experience and his arm stroke is short due to catching but can definitely see the potential is there. If he were to make that transition full time, these mechanical adjustments could be cleaned up fairly easily. Austin is a good student and a respectful person.”

President of Main Baseball Academy
Former 1st round draft pick and professional baseball player
“High-caliber pitching was in abundance Monday, including an entertaining pitching duel between Austin Amaral (2020, Debary, Fla.) and Ryan Lynch (2020, Granger, Ind.). Amaral left the game in line for the victory. The physical and sturdy righty was up to 88 mph with the heater, settling in to average 85. He features some loose and quick arm action and occasionally gets some running life that resulted in plenty of weak contact. While he fills the zone with strikes and limits walks, he was able to flash some strikeout potential as well, preferring to drop in a breaker with two strikes that sometimes looked more like a slurve than a true curveball. Amaral controlled the run game well and displayed some nifty footwork in a pickoff of a runner at first. He ended his outing with five strikeouts over five scoreless Innings for Power Baseball 2020 and is currently uncommitted.” — PG (July 2018) https://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=15465
“Starting on the bump for Power Baseball in their first game of the tournament was righthanded pitcher Austin Amaral (2020, Debary, Fla.). The young ace is an uncommitted junior from University High School who looked good in his BCS debut. Amaral stands at a solid 6-foot and 200-pounds and looks strong on the mound. His long frame and strong arm allow him to put his fastball in the upper-80s, topping out at 88 mph on this day. His high three-quarters arm slot helps him create good arm-side run and sink that creates a lot of groundballs and swing and misses. The breaking ball receives a lot of intrigue as the high spin rate propels it towards the hitter with a lot of movement, both vertically and horizontally.” — PG (July 2018)

Austin Amaral (University HS) is a big time arm in the 2020 class. Up to 89, a really good breaking ball, and he has good command. Stetson commit and a really good one. @austinamaral33 pic.twitter.com/VuQy82CC33
