The Freshwater Storm is one of the longest running travel ball organizations in the entire state of Florida. There will be three teams in the summer of 2020 — Orange, Blue, and Green.
Our primary goals are to win games, have fun, and to help prepare our players to play at the college level.
Our Blue team is coached by Al Yevoli, who spent several years playing Minor League Baseball in the Chicago Cubs organization. He’s a former pitcher and is great at developing young arms. He played for the Freshwater Storm back in 2007 and entering his second year coaching with the Storm.
Our Orange team is coached by Jesse Piccolo, who caught at the Division 1 level at Georgia Southern University after two productive years at St. Johns River CC. He played for the Freshwater Storm back in 2008 and is now entering his 9th year coaching with the Storm.
Our Green team is coached by Donnie Dewees, who was an All-American at UNF and was a 2nd round draft pick by the Chicago Cubs a few years ago. He is currently playing in the Cubs MiLB system. He played two years for the Storm when he was in high school.
- Full payment is the only way to guarantee a roster spot.
- We do not hold tryouts. All of our players are identified by our coaches in a variety of other ways including high school games, private workouts, referrals from college coaches, and more.
- We do not practice aside from one pre-summer workout just before the tournaments start.
- Uncommitted players (any grade): Social media is a powerful recruiting tool in today’s recruiting world. We actively promote our players through videos on our Twitter Page (https://twitter.com/PrspCntSports) where over 300 college coaches following us (including schools like UF, USF, UCF, etc).
