How We Help

Prospect Connect Baseball is a private scouting company that was established in 2007. For the last 11 years we have worked directly with college coaches helping connect them with high school players for the sole purpose of helping our players receive college scholarships. We’ve helped connect over 500 players to college coaches during that time and you can be next!

According to the NCAA, only 7.1% of all high school baseball players across the US will play at their level one day. That means for the other 93% who are spending a lot of time and money on travel ball, camps, and showcases, their efforts to secure a college scholarship will be unsuccessful.

We are here to help! We believe if a player checks the following four boxes, he can absolutely be one of those 7.1% — some baseball ability, a good academic record, a legitimate desire to play at the college level, and the family support to help make it happen. If a player meets those criteria, we’d like to offer our help.

We take the promise of getting the information on our players in front of lots of college coaches very seriously. To view a sampling of our interactions with college coaches, CLICK HERE.

The following six ways are how we’re able to help over 90% of our players secure college baseball scholarships:

1. Recruiting Video — We do all of our videos exactly how college coaches want them done in order for them to effectively evaluate the player. We will schedule a time to meet the player near where he lives and run him through a pro-style workout. In addition to the video, we will collect accurate testing numbers such as 60 time, arm velocity, exit velocity, and more. After we edit the video, a copy is given to the player and we place it on the player’s recruiting website for college coaches to watch. In-state college coaches always want to watch video on a player before making the decision to go see him play so without one it becomes very hard to get a college coach interested enough to follow up. Out-of-state college coaches often offer a player just based on video because of their limited budget in getting down here to watch him. Below are video examples:

2. Recruiting Website — We design all of our players a recruiting website that has absolutely everything a college coach needs to see in order to start recruiting a player. This includes the recruiting video, all of his contact information, his baseball numbers, his family information, his academic information, his travel schedule, additional references, and anything else that the family believes can help secure a college scholarship. Players and their families do not have the ability to edit any of the information on this page on their own. Any updates must go through one of our scouts, which is a simple email or phone call. The reason for this is to ensure college coaches that they’re getting accurate and reliable information on all our players. NOTE: We do NOT make links to these recruiting pages available to the public to protect the privacy of the student-athletes. A website will have a very specific link and the only people we give that link to are the players and their families and college coaches. Below is an example of a player’s recruiting website and what appears when college coaches look at it:

3. Showcasing Player’s Information to College Coaches — We do this via three very effective and proven ways:
1) Every month we send out a report that goes out to nearly 1,000 college coaches from all up and down the East Coast. From major Division 1 programs in Florida to small Junior Colleges in the Northeast, we make sure they all see your information on a regular basis. The report goes out in the form of an excel spreadsheet and looks like a roster but also includes links to all the players’ recruiting websites. Sure, not every single coach isn’t going to open it and read through the list but the information is absolutely free to all college coaches and it contains a whole bunch of valuable information for them to sort through. A lot of our players start getting recruited simply from this monthly report. If you’re thinking of contacting coaches on your own, it’s a great idea. However, unless the coach already knows who you are then it’s tough getting any type of legitimate response from them except in the form of a camp invite. Let us change that for you.
2) Anytime one of our players is going to a college camp or showcase (or even knows when he’s pitching in a big travel ball tournament), we make sure to get all of his information to the college coaches who will be at the event. College camps and showcases are a tremendous way for college coaches to evaluate players. However, unless those coaches already know who you are before you get there it’s extremely difficult to catch their attention unless you’re a power arm. None of our players will ever go to an event where college coaches haven’t already been given their information. If there are 12 coaches at the event, four may not read the information, four may not have any interest in the player, but four may like him and will focus on evaluating him when he shows up to the event. This is incredibly important in the process.
3) We make sure our players are communicating with college coaches on a regular basis to build and continue relationships. As we mentioned earlier, getting a college coach to communicate can be very challenging. However, if he’s already expressed some interest in one of our players, we’ll make sure the player and that coach begin an open line of communication.

4. We will offer our players guidance throughout the entire recruiting process. You’ll never have to tackle this alone as a player or as a family. Have questions about a particular school or coach? Ask us. Have questions about how to respond to a coach? Ask us. Need advice on which camps/showcases to seriously consider? Ask us. We’ll be here to help you every step of the way. If we don’t have the answers, we’ll do everything we can to help you find them.

5. Promotion on Social Media — College coaches are very active on social media when it comes to recruiting student-athletes. We are constantly promoting our players on there. Have a great game? Let us know. Get a shout out from Perfect Game? Let us know. Plus, we’ll help show you how YOU can get your video + information in front of a whole bunch of college coaches very quickly through social media. 6. We will help any transfer students. According to the NCAA, over 20-percent of all of its players are transfer students. There are no four-year Junior Colleges so you’ll need to transfer at some point if you’re at one of those schools. And if you ever want to transfer from one 4-year school to another, you’ll need help. We will help all of our players transfer colleges anytime they ask for it. We will simply put you right back in our system so college coaches know you’re available. A lot of MLB players were transfers at one point so we’ll make sure to help make that happen for our players!

If you check the four boxes that we look for in players (ability, grades, desire, and family support) then we can definitely help you become one of the 7.1% to play college baseball. If you haven’t spoken to one of our scouts yet and would like to, please CONTACT US HERE. If you’ve already spoken to one of our scouts, we look forward to speaking more to you and your family!
